True religion and spirituality

The Bible says a tree is known by its fruit, and the same is true of you. You can look at a person’s attitude and know what kind of thinking is prevalent in their life. A sweet, kind person does not have mean, vindictive thoughts. A True christian is known through his actions and his attitude towards others, not to the number of times he/she attends fellowship or the kind of church he/she goes to. It is good too to have a family of fellow Christians where you below, but that is not enough.

James 1:27

27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

When we become Christians, we enter into a relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit that will cause us to grow. With the power of the Holy Spirit, we are called to become more like Jesus and to become more holy. It is this spiritual growth that becomes a birthmark of faith!

Ever since i was little ,i wondered why we have many different and diverse religions in my country. Then i realized that the church is a family which makes us grow spiritually, but there is more to that for the relationship we need to have with God. Each of us is molded uniquely and personally by God. That is why we need to respect beliefs of someone else. We need to learn to listen, understand and have a humble heart, as the one Jesus Christ had.

Recognizing that we can be weak even though we have faith, is the best way of letting Jesus Christ in. It even allows us to be more understanding and caring to our neighbours, despite our differences and diverse background. Avoiding stereotypes, prejudices and judgement should be our virtue, and we should reflect the love of Jesus Christ to the whole world through our attitude and our way of living.

Christianity is religion in its true, richest, most vibrant sense. Yes, Jesus is greater than dead religion and false religion, but he is certainly not opposed to religion. Throughout his life, Jesus embraced and observed every rite and ritual of the Mosaic Law. Circumcised on the eighth day, observing the Sabbath, telling those he healed to offer sacrifices to the priests, there was no part of the law he neglected.

Jesus refused to choose sides. He was passionately religious and deeply spiritual. Maybe we would be wise to follow his lead. Let us ask Jesus Christ to teach us how to be true and faithful Christians and remind us what is more important in our life. That is :Love, respect and faith.

Prayer starter: Dearly heavenly father, Mold me to be like you. Give me a humble, understanding and loving heart. Give me the strength to recognize my weaknesses and avoid rejection and prejudices. Make me passionately religious and deeply spiritual. In the name of Jesus Christ .Amen.
